Are you getting fired?

There are many articles in the news preparing business leaders for entering the post-Covid period called The Great Resignations. It’s forecasted we all need to be prepared for a significant rise in resignations as our team looks for greener pastures, want a lifestyle change, a different profession, or have not been happy with the employer, during COVID.

A stunning statistic is 1 in 4 workers are considering quitting their jobs.

And why?

A poll of over one million workers in the US by Gallup found that leaving a bad manager was the number one reason why workers quit, with 75% of those who left voluntarily doing so because of their boss and not the job itself. Mar 19, 2020

#1 Reason employees quit the boss: They are not heard. The leadership team doesn’t listen. When we are listened to, we feel heard. When we feel heard, we feel understood. When we feel understood, we have positive thoughts and feelings about who we are interacting with.

As a professional working with CEOs, are you listening to your clients? Do they feel heard? If not, will you get fired by them or remained hired?

Post-Covid presents an opportunity to re-listen to your clients. People want to be heard and understood. To illustrate, think of this example when choosing a doctor. You want and will seek a doctor that is highly skilled in your situation. But you choose, hire, a doctor that you feel understands your symptoms, listens to you about your ailments, and your concerns.

Your clients screen you for your skills but hire you for your listening.
